British rockers The Verve return with a scorcher of an album after an 11-year hiatus.
In the late 90s, The Verve attracted unprecedented fame and attention with a thunderbolt of an album, Urban Hymns. The fifth fastest selling British album ever and a landmark release of the 90s, Urban Hymns was an earnest body of work with tracks like the anthemic Bittersweet Symphony, and ultimate downer ballad The Drugs Don't Work.
And just when Richard Ashcroft and Co. were being hailed as the most influential alternative rock band from Britain, the band disintegrated. Now, almost 11 years later, their differences put aside, The Verve are back with Forth, their fourth studio outing. Those who have seen the band play live at Glastonbury at the recent V Festival say the foursome from Wigan have only gotten better. We've heard it and can tell you, Forth has have been well worth the wait.
