Abu Dhabi:  Pakistan and the West Indies are set to play a three-match one-day series in November at the Zayed International Cricket Stadium.

The Abu Dhabi Cricket Council announced the two-nation series in February and the dates were confirmed yesterday.

Dilawar Mani, President of ADCC, said the three ODIs will be played on November 12, 14 and 16.

He said: "November is an excellent time to play cricket in Abu Dhabi with the weather at its best. The dates have been approved by the two teams and we are working on various aspects in connection with the series," added Mani.

The ADCC president said he was delighted the UAE was on the radar for the Champions League, which will be in September.

But he added: "We are happy that Abu Dhabi has been named as a potential venue for the Champions League but I am afraid the event may not come to the UAE this year.

"Two venues are needed and we are ready but with the Dubai venue not so until April next year, Sharjah is the only other venue at present.

"But I am told that Sharjah is upgrading its facilities and if they can be ready by September then we stand a good chance," he said.
