Abu Dhabi: Bin Jamal Cars' Ejaz Akbar smashed 176 to lead his side to a 240 run win over Veco in the Salama Insurance division two cricket tournament.
Akbar belted 16 sixes and 12 fours in his unbeaten 176-run knock as Bin Jamal took complete control.
His side scored 297 for three in their 25 overs and then bowled out Veco for 57 in 15 overs to emerge convincing winners.
Two other batsmen scored centuries on the opening day of the Salama trophy while four bowlers picked up five-wicket hauls.
Khalid Hameed scored a superb 123 to help Abu Dhabi Gentlemen to a 68-run win over Al Fahim. The opener hit eight fours and three sixes as the Gentlemen reached 208 for seven.
Mohammad Zaheer then took five for 26 to bowl Al Fahim out for 140 in 23 overs.
Nazar Hussain was the third centurion. His 117 for Thrifty Rent-A-Car ensured his team scored a 126-run win over Daman.
Adnoc Distribution's Irfan Khan and Kyle Baxter of Darwish bin Ahmad were the other two bowlers to take five wickets.
