Two officials of a government agency tasked with recovering the alleged ill-gotten wealth of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos are facing investigation by the Ombudsman's office and at the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court. They have been keeping from the government agency important data on the secret bank accounts and former business cronies of the former strongman, the justice department said. Marcos allegedly stashed $35 billion of ill-gotten wealth while in power from 1965 until his ouster by a people-backed military mutiny in 1986.
