Nakheel yesterday launched the sale of a new community living centre, Discovery Gardens, its ninth emblematic project in Dubai.

It is situated along Shaikh Zayed Road between interchanges five and six.

Discovery Gardens will be a self-contained unit with shopping amenities, a mosque, jogging and cycling trails, community swimming pools, football and tennis courts and close proximity to the new Gardens Shopping Mall.

The 420,000 square metre development is a pre-designed complex comprising themed communities styled in garden experiences. The first neighbourhood to go on sale is the Mediterranean Gardens which is the heart of the development.

The Mediterranean Gardens is divided into two zones and is part of six exquisite themed areas. The remaining five will be sold later this year.

Mediterranean Gardens One offers 36 buildings with 1,380 studio and 1,392 one-bedroom apartments. They will be sold to property developers and investors who will then either rent or sell them.

"It is clear that there is enormous demand for world class property developments in Dubai," said Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, executive chairman of Nakheel.
