Dubai: Real estate developer Dubai Properties, a member of Dubai Holding, has launched the The Souq, the initial retail component of its Culture Village project.
The themed waterfront retail facility will cover 370,000 square feet of a two-level shopping mall. It will be made up of more than 200 interior and exterior shops overlooking Dubai Creek.
"As master developers, our vision is to see the integration of retail and commercial zones with residential units in order to build self-sustaining communities that add value for the customer and contribute towards the growth of Dubai," said Mohammad Binbrek, CEO of Dubai Properties.
Dubai Properties launched the project at the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) annual convention earlier this week.
"Our participation in this event supports our strategy to develop investor interest in Dubai Properties' retail projects, particularly new offerings such as Culture Village Souq," Binbrek added.
Dubai Properties officials say the company is also leasing retail space at The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence, a 1.7-kilometre beachfront development consisting of more than 350 retail outlets.
Plots are also on the market for Bay Avenue at Executive Towers, Business Bay, a retail zone covering more than 175,000 square feet of a two-level shopping concourse, featuring more than 130 shops.
