Dubai: The formation of Meydan LLC, which will oversee development of the UAE's new horseracing project, was announced in Dubai on Thursday.
The board comprises Saeed Al Tayer, Ahmad Al Shaikh and Malih Lahej Al Basti.
The Meydan office has also opened, and is located on the first floor of the Millennium Grandstand at Nad Al Sheba racecourse.
Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Meydan was officially launched on the eve of the 2007 Dubai World Cup on March 30.
The landmark development has a target opening for the 2010 Dubai World Cup meeting and will span 76 million square feet.
