Malaysia: Malaysia has set up a dedicated telephone service for ethnic Indians after a massive rally to demand fair treatment turned violent in the country, an official said on Friday.
The hotline will be connected to the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), an ethnic Indian party in the ruling coalition, said a senior official, who declined to be named.
He said Indians will be able to call and complain about any grievances they may have.
He said Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has also instructed MIC to set up a committee to study the Indians' grievances.
