Dubai: The highlight of Sharjah Cricket Council's weekend games was some brilliant performances by the Bankers, who did exceedingly well in the SCC Inter Bank tournament which was contested at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
Emirates Bank Group's Faisal (70 n/o) and Akbar (65 n/o) helped defeat National Bank of Fujairah by nine wickets.
Dominance
The United Arab Bank batsmen were in great form as Fazeel (77), Zeeshan (67 n/o) and Tariq Imtiaz (59 n/o) took their team's score to 248 for three.
In reply, Habib Bank AG Zurich were restricted to 161 for six wickets in their allotted overs.
In the Al Dhaid Cricket League, skipper Asim Kaleem of Emirates Islamic Bank scored 61 but Khatri CC did well to win the game by three wickets.
Hamad Contracting continued to show their dominance, defeating Nucaf Tellichery by 71 runs.
Mellinium Metals defeated Lanka Colts by 76 runs, while Ibson CC defeated Solanki CC by four wickets.
In the Bukhatir league, Maklai CC defeated the Sharjah Club by six wickets. Rashid scored an unbeaten 91 for Sharjah Club but ended up on the losing side as Maklai CC's Abdul Gani hit a brilliant 85 and Mehboob scored 63 to overcome Sharjah's total of 206 runs.
