Abu Dhabi: Arif Abdullah Al Tunaiji, the third Secretary at the UAE embassy in Kabul was slightly injured during a terrorist assault on a Kabul hotel on Monday.
An authorised spokesman in the Foreign affairs Ministry said that Al Tunaiji sustained a slight injury as a result to the exchange of gun fire after the terrorist assault on Serina hotel in the Afghani capital.
The source also said that Al Tunaiji was in Kabul hospital, receiving medical care, and that he is in a fairly good condition.
The Foreign Ministry contacted Al Tunaiji's family immediately.
The source condemned the terrorist assault, and emphasised that the UAE will continue backing the Afghani government and extending humanitarian assistance to the Afghani people.
