More than 10 years after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the allegations and accusations continue. Mohammad Al Fayed has cast his net wide in alleging a conspiracy which encompasses, among others, Tony Blair, MI5, MI6, the CIA, the French intelligence service, the French ambulance service, the Surrey coroner, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles. Not one shred of evidence, despite previous investigations and reports, backs up his bizarre claim that Diana, Dodi Al Fayed and Henri Paul the chauffeur were murdered. The crash that occurred in Paris on August 31, 1997 was a terrible accident that claimed three lives - but it was an accident.
The verdict of the inquest currently taking place in London is due in April. There can be no doubt, on the evidence presented, what that verdict will be and that it will be rooted in reality and not in fantasy.
