Abu Dhabi: The second edition of the Gulf Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) will be held in Abu Dhabi early next month at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) and chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) said the GIBTM exhibition is considered one of the largest specialised events held in the region that attracts the most prominent decision-makers dealing with incentives and conferences from all over the world.
Shaikh Sultan said, "The effective presence of prominent figures during the first edition of the event in March last year in Abu Dhabi helped to achieve many of the desired results of the event. In addition, the event's international reputation hugely helped to promote Abu Dhabi as an important destination in the business tourism sector due to the city's developed infrastructure."
Shaikh Sultan attributed the success of the first edition to Adnec's state-of-the-art exhibition and organisational facilities. He said, "The participation of the second edition of GIBTM has increased by 20 per cent, confirming the first edition's success.
"This increase is a direct result of Adnec's modern and professional convening infrastructure reflecting the centre's distinguished services offered to exhibitors.
"Such infrastructure helps fulfill the goals and objectives of the emirate as a leading regional and international centre for conferences and exhibitions, especially those regarding incentives," he said.
