Seoul: North Korea hurled insults at South Korea's new president on Tuesday, calling him a "political charlatan" and an "absent minded traitor".
A commentary in the communist party Rodong Sinmum newspaper also called Lee Myung-bak a "US sycophant".
Lee's government had warned Pyongyang that it should improve its human rights record to keep receiving aid; infuriating the North.
Last week, the North test-fired missiles, expelled South Korean officials at a joint factory park in the North and threatened to attack South Korea in a show of anger at Lee.
