New York: Boeing, the world's second-largest commercial planemaker, may sell Iraq Airways 40 aircraft valued at $6 billion, according to a Banc of America Securities report.
The aircraft of "different sizes'' would be delivered in 2013 and 2014, Banc of America analyst Robert Stallard wrote in a report on Friday, citing the official Al Sabaah newspaper.
The Iraqi carrier is planning to open new routes between Baghdad and cities including London, Frankfurt and Karachi, the report said.
Peter Conte, a spokesman for Chicago-based Boeing, declined to comment on the report.
Boeing fell 26 cents to $85.22 at 4.01pm on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday.
The shares have fallen 5.2 per cent in the past year. Airbus is the world's biggest jetliner manufacturer.
