Abu Dhabi: SSP, Europe and Asia's operator of food and beverage (F&B) brands in travel locations, signed a three year contract with Abu Dhabi Airports Company on Wednesday granting the F&B operator exclusive management of all Abu Dhabi Airport’s outlets within the new Terminal 3 building.
Announcing their preferred partner status earlier this year, the partnership was sealed against the backdrop of the Farnborough Airshow – one of the world’s largest international events for both commercial and military aviation industries.
Brands managed by SSP range from full service to casual dining restaurants, as well as convenience stores and fast-food outlets.
At Abu Dhabi, the brands SSP will feature include Burger King, Sahten, which will serve Lebanese food, Gino’s pizza, Yum Cha, a Chinese concept, Upper Crust, Segafredo, Caffè Ritazza, Hippopotamus, Bill Bentley, Flavours and SSP’s new bakery brand Panopolis.
Henrik Andersen, Managing Director of SSP Gulf and India, said: “Supporting ADAC’s aim of establishing the new Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi Airport as a benchmark for the region goes hand-in-hand with our strategy to be recognised as the leading operator of food and beverage brands in the Middle East.
"The contract, signed on Wednesday, means that SSP will commence its operations from the opening of Abu Dhabi International Airport's Terminal 3, which is scheduled to be operational by late October 2008."
