Dubai: Al Islami Foods on Saturday reported a 40 per cent increase in sales revenue for 2007, compared to 2006. The company, however, did not reveal the sales revenue figure.

"Al Islami signals another year of excellence as it consolidates its leadership position, sets quality benchmarks for the halal-food industry and contribution to the development of the national economy," said Saleh Abdullah Lootah, CEO of Al Islami Foods.

As part of its global expansion plan, Al Islami has set up an office in the UK.

"We launched Al Islami Meat Shops with the first outlet opening at Al Ain Cooperative Society, Ahmad Zahran, marketing director, Al Islami Foods, said.

"We have launched Al Islami Cart for the young entrepreneurs and acquired Al Farooj Fresh - a restaurant and Express chain in UAE. Introducing new products and food categories is the core of Al Islami's plan in 2008." Zahran added.
