Dubai: The scale of real estate developments in Dubai is the key to the success of the new exhibition on carpets and floor coverings, said a top Dubai official. Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, opened Domotex Middle East at the Dubai World Trade Centre yesterday. "I am very impressed with the range of products on show, and I have no doubt that plenty of business will be signed," he said. Bin Sulayem said the number of villas, hotels, offices and other projects under construction in Dubai has made the show's launch timing ideal. "This exhibition is very important for the large number of real estate projects under way in the region. It gives buyers choice and variety," he added. Latest range
The show features the latest products and advances in floor coverings from 241 international and domestic exhibitors. Stands from Turkey and the UAE dominate floor space, followed by Germany and India. Angela Schaschen, managing director of Messe Middle East, the regional cooperation partner of Domotex Middle East, said, "Many exhibitors are in the Middle East for the first time with new-to-market products and technology. This transforms the show into a laboratory of industry know-how." Target visitor groups to Domotex include wholesalers and retailers of floor coverings, decision makers in the contract and property development business, planners, architects and interior designers, interior decorators, construction companies and property investors, as well as their buyers and project managers, floor fitters and skilled workers in this fast-growing sector.
