Dubai: Enviromena Power Systems, an alternative energy provider based in Abu Dhabi, on Monday announced it has obtained an international certification that it has reduced its carbon emissions to net zero.
The company, which was awarded the carbon neutral certificate by the London-based The CarbonNeutral Company, is said to be one of the first UAE companies to neutralise its carbon footprint.
According to the Carbon Reduction Institute in Australia, taking action on climate change will help companies win new customers and increase customer loyalty.
Financial benefits can also include saving on energy bills, higher return on investment through a growing customer base and fin-ancial savings from waste reduction and recycling.
"In addition to making a positive impact on sustainability goals, becoming carbon neutral also benefits firms by increasing revenue," Karan Yadav of Eco-ventures told Gulf News. "Firms can attract new customers and improve their existing service and product positioning."

"It also enhances brand value," added Sami Khoreibi, chief executive officer of Enviromena. "In making a commitment to (reduce carbon footprint), companies signal the true nature of their values with respect to corporate responsibility and the impact of their activities on the community."
Masdar Initiative, which promotes renewable and sustainable energy technologies, welcomed Enviromena's green-friendly strategy and encouraged other companies to do the same.

We see them as helping us meet the growing energy challenges while contributing to economic growth and the goal of achieving a clean energy future for the world," said Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Masdar Initiative chief executive officer in a press statement.
