Dubai: The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) signed a management deal with hotel group Accor for the Ibis hotel, which will be located in the Dubai Trade Centre District (DTCD), the commercial destination under phase one of construction.
The hotel will add 588 rooms in the first quarter of 2011, while being the second Ibis hotel under the DWTC group. The building will see an investment of Dh350 million, according to officials.
The hotel operator plans to add 70 hotels within four years in the Middle East, of which 45 are under construction.
Phase one of DTCD will be completed by mid-2010, creating over 240,000 square metres of office space, along with retail and hospitality facilities.
"DWTC is in the process of finalising agreements with major hotel operators," said Helal Al Merri, director general, DWTC.
