Dubai: Greenline group, luxury interiors and yacht interiors outfit, yesterday launched its new base that houses the world's largest yacht interiors factory, according to a statement.

The facility, located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, is spread over 60,000 square metres with the factory designed to accommodate a 150 metre-plus mega yacht. The group's current projects under development are estimated at Dh1 billion, which the company expects to double in the coming years.

Officials said they have relocated and expanded their facility in anticipation of increased demand.

Colin Addley, vice-president of yacht interiors under the group, expects growth of 30-40 per cent in the yacht industry in the coming years.

The company is looking to increase its work force to 2,000 in the coming years, said Gaby Khoury, vice-president of Green line interiors, who manufacture, design and execute interiors for high-end hotels, palaces, residences and offices.

The investment in the new facility was over Dh200 million, according to Lea Badro, business development manager of the group. The company reported a 10 per cent share of the UAE yacht interiors market.
