Dubai: The UAE's investments in Tunisia have exceeded $20 billion (Dh73.4 billion) in the past two years, the Ministry of Economy said on Thursday.
The ministry on Thursday organised a forum to discuss boosting of economic links with Tunisia. The event was attended by a number of senior officials from the two countries.
"The Emirates-Tunisia Economic Partnership Forum is the latest initiative to boost already distinguished relations between our two countries, which have been enjoying rapid economic and business growth. The UAE in fact remains one of the most important investor countries in Tunisia," said Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy.
The event was attended by prominent political and business figures from both countries, including Mohammad Al Sedeeri, Tunisian ambassador to the UAE and Mohammad Ahmad Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shihhi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy.
According to data from the UAE Ministry of Economy, the country's investments in Tunisia have exceeded $20 billion over the past two years and the volume of non-oil bilateral trade reached Dh173 million in 2006.
