Dubai: Dubai Event Management Corporation (DEMC) announced on Saturday that it acquired a majority stake in Prisme International, a company, which provides end-to-end event management solutions.

The announcement did not specify the value or size of acquisition.

"Entering a partnership with an internationally renowned event management company like Prisme International is a great opportunity for us. Gaining an experienced and seasoned team of 40 event management experts will maximise DEMC's capability to organise high quality, world-class events," said Saeed Al Muntafiq, Executive Chairman of DEMC.

Prisme International was established by Pierre Marcout, who has more than 25 years of worldwide experience in the creation of diversified shows, such as Jumana, the first permanent show in Middle East.

Prisme International has also been for the past ten years involved in numerous high profile events regionally including the launch of the Dubai Cares Foundation, The Dubai World Cup opening ceremony since 2006, the Abu Dhabi Fashion Week in 2007 and 2008, as well as producing the Qatar Football Association Awards 2006 and 2007.

"The acquisition of major stakes in Prisme International demonstrates our determination to become a leading corporation in the events industry not just in the UAE but across the region as well," said Richard Attias, CEO, DEMC.

DEMC was established by a decree issued by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

It has a mandate to manage and organise events, exhibitions and conferences.

DEMC plans to introduce major new initiatives and strike international alliances with sports, cultural, and event management associations in the coming months.
