Dubai: A Palestinian woman who had lost 80 per cent of her lifetime savings in the Dubai Financial Market by Wednesday was upbeat yesterday after recovering a tiny fraction of her investment by closing time.
"This doesn't mean anything. But at least I know that I'm not still losing. I curse the day I was talked into investing in the stock market," said Umm Haitham, who had invested Dh1 million of savings from her 27-year teaching job at a public school.
She said however that she expected the market to perform better in the coming days, but recovering her losses could take a much longer time.
