Umm Al Quwain: Umm Al Quwain has started production of wet gas, it was announcedon Saturday.
The gas will be transported through a sub-sea pipeline for processing at the Rakgas plant in Ras Al Khaimah.
The development and operation of the Umm Al Quwain offshore gas is being carried out by Field Atlantis (UAQ), a subsidiary of Sinochem Corporation.
Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, expressed his satisfaction that the production achievement was done on time.
The field is located 20 kilometres offshore. The platform is set in 110 feet of water and the unmanned facility has been designed to produce up to 92 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of wet gas which is transferred via a sub-sea pipeline to the Khor Khwair gas plant.
Following the signing of a sale agreement by the Government of Umm Al Qaiwain, Atlantis (UAQ) and Rakgas in March 2006, the full field development commenced immediately with the award of contracts for the fabrication and installation of the platform, drilling and completion of three horizontal wells and installation of 75 kilometres of pipeline.
