Dubai: Feria Valencia of Spain, one of the largest exhibition organisers and venue owners in Europe, is debuting in Dubai with a new show on habitat products as part of an overall Spanish campaign to increase trade relations with the UAE and the region in general.
The expo - New Feria Valencia Concepts - which will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre from March 4-6, seeks to help Valencian companies tap the trade potential for habitat products in the context of the boom in the real estate and construction sector.
Spanish and particularly Valencian companies are now eagerly scouting international markets, which are rich in spending power like the GCC.
Subsiding boom
"The main reason why Valencian habitat products companies did not focus on venturing out so much was because Spain was experiencing a boom in the construction sector. The construction sector in Spain is still growing, but not like before," said Carlos deVargas, CEO, Feria Valencia.
He said Spanish companies have increased their focus on international markets, particularly the eastern markets of Russia and CIS and GCC, after the fall of dollar - which has made exports to dollar countries less lucrative. "We are also seeing a slowing down of Chinese dominance in the regional markets with more focus on quality and value for money demanded by customers," deVargas said.
The expo of Feria Valencia will have some 70 companies showcasing an array of latest concepts and products which the Spanish industry has to offer for the habitat, real estate and construction sectors as well as children's fashion.
