Dubai: Dubai Customs announced that 277 companies have registered to the Client Accreditation Programme, which was launched in March 2007.

Of the registered firms, 33 belong to the Gold category and 244 to the Bronze category.

All registered firms are recognised for their enormous and efficient economic activities, and enjoy a clean record of commitment in terms of customs requirements, regulations and legislation.

The volume of customs transactions of the accredited companies in 2007 increased by 16.5 per cent year on year, while that of imported goods increased 27 per cent.

The total customs duties rose by four per cent, with the most prominent achievements being the improvement in the overall credit guarantees (company guarantees), which achieved an increase of 72.8 per cent.


Ahmad Bin Lahej, Senior Manager, Client Partnership Department, said the results achieved point to the success of the principle of partnership with the private sector.
