Dubai:  Interior contracting company Depa said its joint venture Lindner Depa Interiors has been awarded a Dh375 million contract for the complete fit-out of 13 of Dubai Metro's Red Line stations. The project is expected to be completed in September 2009.

"The stations will follow two schemes, Fire and Water, and Depa's joint venture will fit them out with materials and images to simulate the two," the company said.

Lindner Depa was appointed by JT Metro Joint Venture, a consortium comprising Obayashi Corporation, Kajima Corporation and Yapi Merkezi Insaat ve Sanayi AS.

"We are delighted to be involved with this exciting project and with the fantastic start to our strategic partnership, which brings together Depa's market know-how and first-class track record and Lindner's well-established expertise in the field of complex interior fit-out," said Klaus Kulman, general manager of Lindner Depa Interiors.

Lindner Depa was formed by Depa and its European partner Lindner Group in December.

Dubai Metro is Lindner Depa's first contract award and involves the complete fit-out of Red Line's 13 stations from Jebel Ali Port, along Shaikh Zayed Road, BurJuman, Al Rigga, Dubai International Airport and ending at Rashidiya.
