Wish You Were Exhibition
B21 will host the third solo show titled Wish You Were of Dubai-based Palestinian painter Jeffar Khaldi. His work is both confronting and compassionate, presenting a striking blend of personal mythology, craftsmanship and intuition. Khaldi's use of colour, a rich mix of bright and warm tones, casts a blithe veil over the anxious tension that man has brought to his environment. Wisps of Arabic calligraphy ornament subjects depicted as Persian miniatures or reinterpreted cave-art, in a rough and violent style that employs vibrant swaths of colour, reminiscent of German neo-expressionism.

  • Date: May 13 to June 12
  • Time: (Preview) May 12 at 7.30pm; (Daily exhibition) 10am to 7pm except on Friday
  • Venue: B21 Gallery, Al Quoz 1, near The Courtyard, opposite Spinneys warehouse
