Abu Dhabi: Labour processing centres will soon be set up in labour-sending countries to curb recruitment related malpractices.

The move is a follow-up to the Memoranda of Understanding UAE signed with ten labour sending countries last year

Speaking to Gulf News, John Baxter, the Managing Director of Integra Screen, the company that would establish the centres in association with the UAE Ministry of Labour (MoL) said, "As per our partnership with the MoL, UAE will open up the first labour processing centre at a sending country within three months. But the first country has not yet been confirmed.

"Opening such labour processing centres at the countries of origin results in a win-win situation for all the stakeholders like the workers, employers, countries of origin and destination."
