Abu Dhabi: Expect an increase in temperatures over the next few days, say weathermen.

"Some parts of the emirates recorded thick fog yesterday morning, mostly in areas around Sharjah, while there was light mist in areas in Abu Dhabi.

"The weather became clearer by noon and an increase in temperature was recorded," a spokesperson at a National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) told Gulf News.

He added that this is a common phenomenon during this time of year.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature recorded near coastal areas was 25-31 degrees Celsius. Over the land, the maximum temperature was between 31-36 degrees Celsius and in mountainous areas it was 23-28 degrees Celsius.

On Monday and Tuesday, temperatures are expected to rise further, especially in western areas, signalling the change from winter to summer.

"Some areas would be foggy as well. The weather would be hot during the day and the temperature will reduce by the evening. While only light wind is anticipated this could be dusty in certain areas."
