Dubai:  With easy manoeuvring, zero gas emissions and operating costs of less than 50 fils a day, the newly-launched T3 Series lithium battery-powered vehicle raises the bar for the future of transport. But there is just one catch, it is not on sale yet.

Roger Whitting, managing partner of RTS Security, said: "Currently, the T3 Series has been designed for police and emergency medical personnel, but talks are on for the release of a two-seater model for the common man."

Teaming up with Atlas Telecom, an Abu Dhabi-based technology and solutions provider, Whitting said RTS Security is always looking for innovative ways to present unique and specialised security solutions.

He said: "We deal with the latest, one-of-a-kind James Bond style equipment, and the T3 Series goes a step further by being extremely eco-friendly as well."

Manufactured by California-based T3 Motion Inc, the three-wheeled vehicle is being distributed solely by RTS Security in the region. It has received a warm response from officials at airports and police departments.

Whitting said: "The concept is to build interactivity between officials and residents. With the T3 Series, they are able to move around in crowds easily and communicate at a more personal level."

The fact that it is cost-effective and eco-friendly also helps. Using about 1.5 kilowatts of electricity and four hours to fully recharge, the T3 Series can run for 24 hours on battery power. Ample space for a laptop and the ability to function in rain gives it an added advantage. Whitting said: "The T3 Series can fit into elevators and rotate as well."

As for its impact on the environment, there is none. Whitting said: "We are always looking for eco-friendly answers and the T3 Series produces absolutely no emissions."

Released for the first time in the Middle East, the T3 Series is rapidly gaining recognition.

Whitting said: "People stop me in the middle of the road and ask where they can buy the T3. I can't predict the future, but I do know it is here to stay."
