Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday paid a surprise visit to the house of an Emirati female rescue worker who saved 60 lives during Wednesday’s fire in Al Quoz.
Shaikh Mohammad thanked Jameela Al Za’abi, the first Emirati female rescue worker, for her outstanding efforts and dedication.
Shaikh Mohammad also ordered a promotion for her saying she was an example of a successful Emirati woman.
Shaikh Mohammad told her: “You are a mother to your family as well as to the nation, a good citizen and a strong worker. Your sons and grandsons should be proud of you.
“It is also our duty as leaders to appreciate and honour you for your dedication.”
Jameela, a grandmother, worked for 17 hours during the fire. She has been working as a rescue staff for 13 years.
