Sharjah: In an attempt to ease the parking woes of Sharjah residents, civic authorities have decided to shift the used car showrooms in Abu Shagara and Abu Danig to Riqqa Al Hamara near Sharjah International Airport.
The new auto zone area, with a number of showrooms and car accessory outlets, will be ready in two years, said Dr Salah Al Haj, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, at a press conference on Tuesday.
There are more than 450 used car showrooms in Abu Shagara and Abu Danig, occupying more than 70 per cent of residential parking lots in the area.
There have been constant demands to shift the showrooms.
