Dubai: Dubai Cares - a campaign launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to provide primary education to one million children in developing countries - on Wednesday revealed twelve countries that would be the recipients of the charity drive’s phase one funding.

The countries chosen to receive the funds are: Bangladesh, Bosnia, Chad, Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Maldives, Mauritania, Niger, Pakistan, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan.

The announcement was made by Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Dubai Cares. In attendance was also Dr Charles McCormack, president and CEO of Save the Children US, and Hussain Halane, country director for Sudan.
