Ras Al Khaimah: A worker of a car-wash facility landed a four-wheel vehicle in the middle of a road, instead of the washing zone.
The Indian worker, who did not have a driving licence, put the customer vehicle in reverse gear by mistake and ended up on the road divider.
An officer at the Traffic and Licensing Department said the Emirati owner of the vehicle reported the matter to the police. The worker was briefly detained and the case was referred to the Traffic Prosecution and later referred to the Traffic Court, said the officer.
A senior officer at the department said several similar complaints have already been registered with the department. In many cases this issue has turned into disputes and fights when owners find their vehicles with dents.
The officer said in such cases the car-wash facility will be held responsible as unlicenced labourers are not allowed to drive the cars of their clients.
