Sharjah: Residents in Sharjah will be able to pay their utility bills through select bank cash machines, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) announced on Sunday.

Around 19 banks will be using the eZee Pay software, allowing customers in Sharjah to pay their bills through ATM machines.

Customers will be able to make inquiries and pay their Sewa bills at ATM machines located in a number of banks, including Emirates Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Citi Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Mashreq Bank, RAK Bank, Gulf First and Barclays.

Sewa’s future plans include allowing customers to use eZee Pay to pay insurance deposits and the electricity connection fees.

Hamid Taher Al Hajj, Director of Customer Service, said Sewa intends to make the service available at shopping centres, cooperative societies and commercial areas.
