Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will leave on Friday to Damascus to participate in the 20th Arab Summit, scheduled to be held from March 29 to 30.

The president is heading a high-ranking delegation comprising Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade, Ahmad Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, and Yousuf Al Madafai, UAE Ambassador in Damascus.

The two-day summit will take stock of current Arab, regional and international events with emphasis on Palestine, Lebanon, and Iraq.


Efforts made by Arab League Secretary General Amr Mousa to reach a compromise with Lebanese sides for implementation of the Arab initiative on Lebanon will be reviewed by the Arab leaders.
