Abu Dhabi: Loyalty and identity are two faces of the same coin, the speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) said on Tuesday.
FNC members discussed the future of political participation as a part of the National Identity conference.
The third session of the conference was aimed at discussing the role of the FNC in boosting national identity.
"No society will succeed without a national identity. We need loyalty, which is a trademark of our identity. Loyalty and identity are two faces of the same coin," Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, speaker of the FNC said.
"In the UAE we have seen progress. It was gradual progress, because fast change doesn't work with our people neither does being rigid," Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for the FNC said on Tuesday at the conference.
The third session of the conference was aimed at discussing the role of the FNC in boosting national identity.
