Dubai: Maitha Mohammad Hamdan Al Shamsi has been appointed managing director of the Dubai Women's Establishment.
She comes to the Dubai Women's Establishment from the Executive Office of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, where she was a legal adviser.
She holds a Master's in Law and a Diploma in Sharia from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a Bachelor's degree with honours in Civil Law from the College of Dublin, Ireland.
Mona Al Merri, Chairperson of Dubai Women's Establishment, said: "Building a strong national team with exceptional competencies is crucial to the functioning of the Establishment. Maitha has led several projects to successful fruition, especially those pertaining to the development of UAE women.
"Her outstanding career path makes her our ideal choice for this challenging responsibility. We are confident her expertise will add immeasurable value to the Establishment and encourage more women to become the key driving force behind Dubai's development and progress," she said.
Aims
DWE seeks to nurture female leaders, provide life-long opportunities for trainees as well as employed women, and enhance the image of UAE women.
