Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a law setting up a statistics centre in Abu Dhabi.
The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi will be a corporate body enjoying financial and administrative independence with a legal capacity to carry out official statistics in the emirate.
Under the law, the centre will have an independent budget and its funds will be generated from allocations by the Abu Dhabi government against its statistical services and from gifts, aid and grants.
The centre will be the sole body mandated to conduct official statistics in the emirate. The centre shall be run by a board of directors headed by the chairman of the Planning and Economic Department. The board members will be appointed through a resolution by the chairman of the Executive Council.
