Abu Dhabi: General Secretariat of the Federal National Council (FNC) has sent a statement over the recent Iranian actions at Abu Musa Island to the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU), which will serve all Arab parliaments with the copies of the statement.

The statement called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately remove the administrative offices set up at the UAE’s Abu Musa Island, urging world parliaments to back the UAE in its sovereignty over the three occupied islands: Greater, Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa.

The APU, during its 13th conference held in the Iraqi city of Erbil in March, called Arab parliaments to urge Iran to cease occupation of the three islands. It also urged Iran to improve ties with Arab countries by heeding genuine calls of the UAE to settle the issue amicably through either direct dialogue, or resort to the International Court of Justice.
