Abu Dhabi: Under the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, a dispute between two tribes of Al Ain was settled.
The dispute started when the son of Deeb Shawan Al Qah'tani from the Al Qah'tani tribe was killed, and Saif Rashid Al Khaili and his two sons Hamad and Saeed from Bel Khail tribe were held accountable for the killing.
An agreement to end the dispute and put reconciliation in place was brokered by shaikhs and senior dignitaries from both tribes.
Al Qah'tani, who positively responded to calls for reconciliation, agreed to end the dispute and bury the hatchet forever.
At a special ceremony held as per the tribal traditions, all shaikhs and dignitaries from both tribes met for consultations and then headed towards the house of the deceased.
Hamad Bin Suhail Al Khaili, leader of Bel Khail tribe, gave a speech and asked for pardon for the three members of his tribe involved in the killing of the son of Deeb Al Qah'tani.
He conveyed to Al Qah'tani, the father of the deceased, greetings from Shaikh Mohammad and Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential affairs.
Al Qah'tani responded to the request and received blood money and the key of a new car from the three members of Bel Khail tribe, a ceremonial tribal gift that indicates the dispute is over.
Shaikhs, dignitaries and members of the two tribes expressed their appreciation to Shaikh Mohammad for his role in putting an end to this tribal dispute.
