Dubai: Dubai Municipality Public Health department has cleared the India Palace Restaurant at Ibn Battuta Mall of a recent food contamination complaint [as reported in Gulf News on March 21].
Six people claimed they fell ill after eating from the buffet at the restaurant over the weekend. Abin Sreejith, Manager of the India Palace restaurant, countered the complaint saying: “Hygiene is pretty good at the restaurant. I’m sure this hasn’t happened because everything is clean and tidy. We haven’t had any other reports, so you can’t tell if they were ill from here.”
Public Health officers inspected the restaurant and did not find any reason to uphold the complaint. The Public Health report stated that routine inspections are carried out in restaurants and if any complaints are proven to be true, action is taken against the establishments. No action will be taken against India Palace.
