Dubai: A host of famous authors are to visit Dubai as part of the inaugural Emirates Airline International Festival of Literature (EAIFL).
Renowned authors, such as Paolo Coelho, English explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Second Children's Laureate Anne Fine will be in attendance.
The festival will run from February 25 to March 1, 2009 and is also to be attended by acclaimed children's writers Lynne Truss, Jeremy Strong and Lauren Child. Other names from the fiction, children's, lifestyle and sport genres are expected to be added nearer the festival date.
EAIFL is being directed by Isobel Abulhoul, director of Magrudy's bookshops and Bill Samuel, vice chair of London bookshop Foyles.
Dubai Cultural Council is supporting the festival and will encourage authors, poets and translators from the Arab world to attend.
