Abu Dhabi: The National Health Insurance Company (Daman) has launched plans to facilitate visit visa application procedures after receiving the necessary authorisation.
The move is in line with ministerial decision No. 322/2008, which affects all applications for visit visas in the UAE.
According to recent changes to the national visa system, several different types are now available for visitors.
Developments
As of August 1, it has become mandatory under the newly implemented visa regulations to show proof of health insurance.
"As the nation's primary health insurance company, we are always at the forefront to support any national developments and changes.
"The new visitor's plan has been specifically designed to provide emergency in-patient healthcare insurance for any visitor, which facilitates the visa application process, as well as the visitor's stay in the UAE," commented Dr Michael Blitzer, CEO of Daman.
"Three insurance-packages are ready for immediate use with competitive and affordable prices so as to further provide some peace of mind for the visitors."
He added that the validity of this health insurance policy will be terminated with the expiry of the visa, and Daman will not be responsible for any emergency medical coverage exceeding the visa period.
Medical
The three visitor-packages are valid for 30, 60 and 90 days with gross premiums of Dh40, 70 and 90 respectively. Benefits will cover in-patient emergency medical conditions in Daman's UAE network only and are limited to Dh100,000 per person.
