Completes my day
Gulf News energised me for the day ahead and my day didn’t start until I read it. I often felt this way when I was in Dubai. When I moved to Bahrain, I was glad to find that the newspaper was available there because reading it made my day complete.

I am very proud of Gulf News. Now that I am back in my home country, I would like the newspaper to be a part of the libraries here. It would be very useful to everyone, especially students and researchers, as Gulf News is very informative and educational.

Full justice
I have been reading Gulf News for more than 10 years and find it to be professional, unbiased and very informative. The Ask The Law section in particular is very helpful for expatriates who are not familiar with the country’s rules and regulations. I remember reading the vast coverage about 9/11.

It was such a shocking event, and I think the newspaper did full justice in trying to capture exactly what happened and its aftermath. I also like Friday magazine and my children enjoy the Fun Day section of the newspaper.

Symbol
It gives me great pleasure to read Gulf News and visit its website. I usually compare the newspaper to international ones and find that your website carries a lot more information about local and global affairs.

It is extremely educational and provides readers with a lot of knowledge about current events. I believe Gulf News is a symbol of the excellence of media in the region. Keep up the good work.

People’s paper
Gulf News is at the very top of my list of favourite newspapers. I am a voracious reader and enjoy reading news from different sources, mainly online since it is easier.

Gulf News provides great regional and local coverage and brings to the forefront issues that people are really interested in or worried about.

I have a friend who lives in the Green Community and the coverage about some of the problems there helped gain the attention of the authorities. Such focus helps a lot and I am glad Gulf News pays attention to the needs of the public.

Sharing news
I started reading Gulf News when I was 13 years old because my teachers and parents encouraged me to. I love reading news about local events and issues concerning the UAE because it affects all of us directly.

My parents and I logged onto the website for updates when US President George W. Bush was here and roads were closed.

Also, we bring interesting articles to class every week and share them with each other — my source is always Gulf News. It provides me with a lot of information, and I am always in touch with what's happening in the UAE and around the world because of it.

Frontrunner
I started reading Gulf News when I was in Lebanon about 15 years ago. It is a great newspaper and a frontrunner in reporting about social problems. Gulf News communicates between the system and the regular reader, which is an essential role for the media.

The newspaper leads with news about what affects the common man, and I applaud the paper for its ongoing efforts.

The newspaper also helped me on a personal level when I complained about my telecom provider. They intervened and helped restore my internet connection. I really appreciate Gulf News’ concern and quick action.

Bright future
For the past seven years, Gulf News has been my favourite English newspaper in the region. It helped me a lot in improving my English when I first came to the UAE and the language used is so easy to read.

I also encourage my children to read the paper for this reason. I am addicted to Friday magazine's recipes section and also love reading other magazines.

My only suggestion to Gulf News is to provide more fun activities or a separate section for children every day so that they can be encouraged to read newspapers at an early age. Gulf News is fantastic, and I wish it all the best for a bright future.

Tell it like it is
Gulf News is a newspaper of distinction when it comes to journalism. The open letter that was published by Gulf News in response to President George W. Bush’s visit to the UAE highlighted many sore points in the region.

I do not agree with the people who criticised the letter to President Bush because sometimes staying aloof and objective is contrary to what is just and fair. I salute Gulf News for telling it like it is.
