Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decision to promote 2,998 Dubai Police personnel.
The decision included promoting 11 brigadiers to major generals.
Some of the promoted brigadiers included Major General Dr Jamal Mohammad Khalifa Al Merri, Dubai Police's Deputy Commandant General, Major General Abdul Rahman Rafia'a, Director of Community Service Department, Major General Dr Jasim Bel Rumaitha, Director of the Operations Department, Major General Mohammad Humaid Al Suwaidi, Director of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, Major General Mohammad Dha'en Al Qumzi, Director of State Security Department and Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mezaina, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The decision also promoted six colonels to brigadiers, four lieutenant colonels to colonels, 32 majors to lieutenant colonels, 35 captains to majors, 81 first lieutenants to captains and 99 lieutenants to first lieutenants.
It also included promoting 35 first warrant officers to lieutenants, 94 warrant officers to first warrant officers, 118 first sergeants to warrant officers, 124 sergeants to first sergeants, 111 corporals to sergeants, 204 corporals to first corporals, 304 first policemen to corporals and 1,193 policemen to first policemen.
