Dubai: Police have arrested a Filipino for allegedly stabbing his wife to death after a quarrel.
According to police, the couple had consumed liquor in a room rented in a villa in the Al Twar area in Deira. They had a quarrel which turned into a heated argument and the husband started stabbing his wife with a knife. He stabbed her many times, said police.
The wife tried to resist her husband and escape, but she failed and fell in a pool of blood, while the husband ran away.
The Dubai Police Operations Room received a report from the neighbours at 9pm on Thursday about a quarrel between the couple and continuous calls for help by the wife.
Police teams found the wife in a pool of blood. She died on her way to hospital. Police teams also found the husband hiding in the yard and referred him to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
