Dubai: An 11-year-old schoolboy is being questioned for reportedly sexually abusing a six-year-old schoolboy on a school bus in Abu Dhabi, Gulf News has learnt.
The 11-year-old Emirati boy has been detained and is being questioned by the Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution for allegedly sexually abusing his six-year-old compatriot.
Sources close to the interrogation told Gulf News a 12-year-old schoolboy might have been also involved in the alleged abuse.
This information, however, couldn't be independently verified.
Sources said the incident happened recently and the six-year-old, who attends an extensive programme in one of the capital's schools, returned home crying.
The boy told his mother about his alleged ordeal which happened on the school bus and the parents instantly reported the matter to the authorities.
It is believed that this is not the first incident of sexual abuse to have happened to the six-year-old.

It cannot be confirmed whether the same alleged perpetrator was involved, added the sources.
The supposed victim was taken for a medical examination.
Despite several attempts, the boy's mother could not be reached for comment.
