Dubai: Many uneducated women of different nationalities move here to work and earn their living as domestic helpers, nannies, sales women, cashiers and many other jobs which do not need the woman to be a post graduate or holder of any educational certificate.

Those women are usually from poor families and they decide to come here to support their families back home.

However, some of those women could land in trouble here after being cheated by people of their own nationality back home in their own countries who promise them to come and work in the UAE and earn a lot of money but some times and in some cases those women land in problems such as being forced into prostitution which is considered a kind of human trafficking - a severely punishable crime in the UAE.

While such case are rare in the UAE, still authorities here have set severe punishment against those who are proven to be involved in any kind of human trafficking.

The UAE has taken serious efforts in order to protect victims of human trafficking and prevent such crimes from taking place.

The UAE efforts, they affirm would prevent human trafficking gangs in achieving their goals in the UAE. Authorities here have set up the UAE National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking which is part of the country's commitment to combating the crime of human trafficking in all its forms.

The committee is promoting awareness of human trafficking issues and educating the public.

The committee also plays a vital role on monitoring incidents of human rights abuse and taking every effort to fight this crime.

Some expatriate women are illiterate, unemployed women who are unaware of their rights and live in their home country below levels of poverty that leads to their exploitation.
